In December of 2016 the students of St. Joseph, accompanied by their Vice Principal Amit Singh, took a random survey and met with the old people of the village at St. Joseph's. Many had problems with their eyes,as well as some of the poorer students.
The program resulted in 140 people getting frames and 168 were given a vision test. For many of these people it was the first time. Through a donation which was given to us by the students from Taiwan to help the needy, it was enough to pay the Nepali doctors who attended them. The students of St. Joseph's not only learn education but "hands on" training and care for others. This has helped the predominant Hindu village to accept and understand that being Christian is not just a "western religion" but a lifestyle of love and care. |
