Below is the testimony of Monk Geshe Samdup who is from TIbet and now lives in Nepal. He has been a monk since a child. Very easy to talk to we immediately became friends. He helped to supervise doctors from Taiwan to use the monastery for our relief efforts and allowed the Red Cross to set up a food kitchen and tents for the refugees. This is our story......
在尼泊爾遭受第二次重大地震後，我們在台灣募集更多物資、用品，第三次前往尼泊爾賑災。
我們不是唯一幫助賑災的人，我們很快就發現一位自四歲大就成為佛教僧人的寶貴西藏格西桑珠法師。
在尼泊爾首都加德滿都圓滿法洲寺災後緊急收納約500 名鄰近災民及自邊境逃離的藏民。住持格西桑珠法師表示，一下子容納這麼多人，食物、 飲用水、衛生、醫療照顧都成問題，但寺院還是盡力去做，「只要省一口飯，我們就可以幫助瀕臨絕境的人。」格西桑珠法師說。
After Nepal suffered its 2nd major earthquake we made a 3rd relief trip bringing supplies and materials to the country from Taiwan.
We were not the only ones helping and we soon discovered a precious Tibetan Buddhist monk , since the age of 4, by the name of Geshe Samdup on the scene.
They had been receiving around 500 earthquake victims in the neighboring area and the Tibetan refugees who fled from the boarder because of the earthquake. He helps direct and run the Nepal Phuntsok Choeling Monastery in Kathmandu.
He commented about helping with the victims by saying, "Though it took a lot of manpower and much resources for food, drinking water, hygiene, medical care to receive so many people suddenly, but as long as we can save even a little bit of food for others, we can save those who are facing hopeless situation."
我們倆都花了幾分鐘時間，談論我們彼此的信仰，當他發現我是基督徒時，他問我是否有任何關於耶穌的書籍。我驚訝問他「為什麼？」他告訴我身為一位老師，他想要心胸開放，瞭解更多事物！
當晚，我匆匆趕回去找到一本西藏文新約聖經，他第二天早上很開心地接受了它。
We both spent several minutes talking about our faith and when he discovered I was Christian he asked if I had any books on Jesus. Surprised I asked “why”? He told me as a teacher he wanted to be open and know more! Later that day, I rushed back to get a Tibetan New Testament which he happily received the following morning.
我告訴他可以從哪裡開始閱讀，然後我們一起在達賴喇嘛的畫像下合影。過後他必須料理自己的事務。（當時有一隊來自西班牙的電影攝製組在採訪他）
當我離開說再見時，他離開攝影採訪一會兒，跨出廟門來跟我說話。我利用這個機會與他一起禱告接受耶穌。在他和我一起重複得救的禱告時，他以我不知道的姿勢，以他的額頭觸碰我的額頭。
I showed him where to start reading and then we posed for photos together under a portrait of the Dali Lama. He then went about his business (a film crew from Spain was interviewing him at the time). As I left to say good-bye, he left the interview for a moment and stepped outside the temple doors to talk to me. I took this opportunity to pray with him to receive Jesus and in a gesture unbeknownst to me, he touched my forehead to his and together as he repeated the salvation prayer.
我好奇他為什麼這樣做，我後來才發現這個藏族手勢是要好的老朋友彼此之間有時這麼做，來表明他們的接近度。同樣，老師感覺與某些學生之間有深厚的情誼時，當學生們感謝他們的教學時，老師也會將他的前額觸碰學生們的前額。
因此，那的確是一個非常特別的時刻。這位佛教法師認識了那位真正的法師和朋友－－耶穌！
Curious as to why he did this, I later discovered this Tibetan gesture is what good old friends will sometimes do as recognition of their friends proximity. Similarly, teachers feeling a strong bond with some students will touch their foreheads with them when the students thank them for a teaching received.
So it was a special moment in deed. The master monk having met the true Master and Friend . Jesus

Later, after returning to Taiwan, the Taiwan Red Cross, made a donation to help the children of St. Joseph's in the rebuilding of the temporary classrooms.
What I discovered was , this dear monk, was also being helped by the Red Cross and featured in their newletter.
An amazing coincidence!
